Coldplay's Kiss Cam Sparks Scandal for Tech CEO and HR Exec

Chris Martin might’ve just sparked the messiest office drama of the year…

A Coldplay concert at Gillette Stadium on July 16 has turned into an arena-wide scandal and a social media firestorm after Astronomer CEO Andy Byron and Chief People Officer Kristin Cabot were caught by the kiss cam looking uncomfortably close.

Footage from the kiss cam showed Byron embracing Cabot before swiftly releasing her and ducking behind a barrier.

Cabot was seen covering her face in apparent mortification… And then Chris Martin turned up the heat, telling the crowd, “Either they’re having an affair, or they’re very shy.”

The fallout was immediate and relentless.

Clips of the moment hit TikTok and X (formerly Twitter) faster than Byron could delete his LinkedIn.

(Yes, he did really delete it)

Public opinion largely interpreted their behavior as evidence of an alleged affair, with one user quipping, “There is no plausible reason why they would act that way unless they were having an affair.” Meanwhile, others added humorous takes, with comments about divorce attorneys and sly workplace jabs.

And that’s not all as Byron’s wife has reportedly dropped his last name on Facebook.

Byron joined Astronomer—a $1.3 billion software company—as CEO in 2023, and Cabot only came on board nine months ago.

But after that kiss cam fiasco, “team building” is the least of their problems.
